Liza's Lids works alongside an organizations called the "Look Good Feel Better Program".
Our charity makes donations to their program for cancer patients residing in or receiving treatment in Montgomery County, Maryland.
"Look Good Feel Better was founded in 1989 on the premise that if cancer patients can be helped to look more like themselves, their improved self-esteem will give them courage and confidence to cope with their disease and treatments. Since then, they have served more than 700,000 cancer patients in the United States."
Liza’s Lids shares that same sentiment. If you can find the strength to feel good about yourself while battling breast cancer, we believe you can find the strength to become a SURVIVOR! Our charity is determined to help you do that.
Liza attended a "Look Good Feel Better Program" at the Laurel Regional Hospital shortly after being diagnosed with her Breast Cancer. With their help, Liza received the support and encouragement she needed during her time as a cancer patient.
With it, she won the struggles that lie beneath the burning battle against cancer. Winning those little battles gave Liza the strength to fight, and to no longer be called a breast cancer patient, but a breast cancer SURVIVOR! This program works, and Liza is LIVING proof. She wears her pink with pride!
Eligibility:
- Women who are currently undergoing treatment for a cancer diagnosis (chemotherapy, radiation therapy, or other forms of treatment).
- Registration is required. Only program participants may attend the workshop. Due to confidentiality and comfort level of the patients, as well as space restrictions, this protocol is necessary. This will ensure that the participant will receive the full attention necessary to gain the skills and confidence for increased independence.
- Or Patients with a Recurrence of Cancer and are receiving another round of treatment may attend another workshop and receive a new cosmetic kit.

Liza shops weekly for the Liza’s Lids charity. She believes that women in treatment should have the highest quality of wigs, scarves and hats possible. "We are bald and our heads are sensitive, (and cold), but we still want to be beautiful! Just because times are hard and a lot of us are financially strapped, does not mean we should suffer by wearing an ugly scarf, we are going through enough!"...........
Liza is known for her unique scarves, all different and each one more beautiful than the next. "Every woman likes variety and choices... Liza’s Lids does just that for the ladies enduring treatment."
